Lunch With the Sorelle and Ariele

Ariele's parents are working in the Swiss Temple this week so we invited him for lunch.  We also invited the Sisters to join us.  We had tacos, Mexican rice, apple crumble and ice cream.

 Ready . . . Set . . .

 Dig in!

Sorelle Lemos and Andromidas, looks like they love each other.

 Sorella Jefferies loves them too.

Us men like each other too.

Vending Machines in Forli'

On the street not far from our apartment, there are two vending machines that are unique.  One has bread rolls and the other has milk.

Put 20 cents in the slot.

When the little plastic door opens, retrieve a paper sack.

Put the sack under the chute.

The instructions say that you get one roll for 20 cents.

But I got 2  rolls.  This makes up for last year when I put 20 cents in the machine and got nothing.

A few meters away is the milk machine.  You either bring your own container or you can buy one in a machine next to this one for 20 cents.  You put 1 euro in the machine.

Put your container under the spout and push a button.

One liter of cold, fresh, whole milk.

 Blow off the foam.

And there you have it, delicious milk.

SHE DID IT

Yesterday Sorella Jefferies finished reading the Book of Mormon in Italian.  She started reading it out loud to me about a year ago.  It was pretty slow going at first, just a few verses a day.  When she finished she was reading 2 to 3 pages a day.  I am so proud of her.  She set it as a goal and she accomplished it.

Priesthood Preview

Tonight we had a Priesthood Preview meeting for Michael and his parents.  Michael has a birthday in February and will be 12 years old.  Erica, the Primary President, put the program together and it was one of the best programs I have ever been involved in.

Erica and Sorella Jefferies put together a poster of Michael and his Faith in God activities.

A New Sister in Forli'

Yesterday we had lunch with the Sisters (kind of a farewell lunch) and then today we said goodbye to Sister Jameson.  She was transferred to Pisa to be a Sister Training Leader.  It was hard to say goodbye to this sweet missionary but we know that she will do wonderful work in Pisa and as a leader in the mission.  A few hours later we welcomed Sorella Lemos to Forli'.  She is from Argentina and has served in Genova and Pavia.  She and Sorella Andromidas were both trained by Sorella Jameson.  We look forward to getting to know her and working with her.

 Chinese food for lunch.

Beautiful Villa

On the highway to Ravenna, where we have district meetings, we go right by a beautiful villa.  Sorella Jefferies wants to buy it and have it as our summer home.  In her honor, we named it Villa Deanne.  Last week we stopped and took a few pictures.

This main entrance to the estate is not used anymore.

The path to the main house is lined with statues.

The estate has its own church and bell tower.

Villa Deanne looks like it could be a movie set.

The Nativities of Portico di Romagna

On January 1, 2014 we took the Sister missionaries and Agnese to Portico di Romagna to look at the nativities.  Almost every house in this little village has a nativity display and people come from all over the region to enjoy them.

These little sheep and people were very cute.

 Agnese with a multi-level nativity.

 This was my favorite nativity.

These little houses look like they are in Bethlehem.

On the bridge just outside of town.

It was a little chilly for the Sorelle.

This nativity had colorful high rise buildings.
